Known as the Iceland Cheese Queen, Eirný Sigurðardóttir is Iceland’s go-to expert for all things related to cheese and the dairy industry. Eirný spent her childhood in multiple countries, including Tanzania, Kenya, Nigeria, Iceland and England, and attributes those worldly experiences as the ones that kickstarted her interest in the diversity of cuisine. Upon returning to Iceland, Eirný opened a cheese shop called Icelandic Pantry, helping pave the way in the Icelandic artisanal food space. From farming history to production, Eirný’s knowledge on Iceland’s unique and innovative approach to food and drink is incredibly expansive, and we’re excited to learn from her as she sits down with us for a picnic in the Icelandic wilderness.
