We love many things about Correntoso Lake & River Hotel - its amazing spa, breathtaking vistas, and its wonderful owner, Andrea Laurence.

Andrea has owned Correntoso Lake & River Hotel with her husband Alejandro since the late 90s, although the original hotel dates back to 1917. Now, the property is known as one of the most historic hotels in Patagonia and a stunning place to soak up the beautiful nature and wildlife right outside its doors. We spend three glorious nights here on our Argentina trips that make the trek to Patagonia!

1. WHAT LED YOU TO OPEN CORRENTOSO? WHAT WERE YOU DOING BEFORE AND WHAT INSPIRED THE CHANGE?

I was born and raised in Patagonia, and after bringing up my family in Buenos Aires I decided to recover my roots.

2. WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT OWNING A HOTEL?

Sharing the work I have done at Correntoso that I am very proud of with others. Working with my team is very heartwarming. I enjoy all the kinds of work that come with the hotel: gardening, decorating, cooking, socializing…

3. IN 3 WORDS, HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE PATAGONIA? WHAT KEEPS PEOPLE INSPIRED TO TRAVEL HERE?

Majestic, wild, overwhelming. Traveling to Patagonia gives you the chance of being in incredible sceneries and the outdoor life is intense.

4. DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE TRAVEL MEMORY?

Sharing the Galapagos with my family.

5. WHO ARE 3 PEOPLE YOU WOULD LOVE TO HOST AT CORRENTOSO?

I love to host people from different cultures. I love to give them our best as well as receive from them. We want them to experience memorable moments and feelings of being part of the wonderful Patagonia.

6. WHAT DOES A DAY OFF LOOK LIKE?

Traveling, gardening, sailing and cooking for family and friends in my Stone House at Correntoso.
