TOUR 3 - “BY THE SEA(ZA)”
Delight in the work of Portuguese architect Álvaro Siza on this seaside walking tour around Leça da Palmeira, which is part of the Matosinhos parish. Along the way, we’ll visit the Marés and Quinta Da Conceição public pools and the Boa-Nova Tea House, as well as other notable landmarks like Fernando Távora’s Tennis Pavilion.

TOUR 4 - “CASA SIZA”
This tour explores the hometown of famed architect Álvaro Siza, known as one of the leaders of contemporary Portuguese architecture. We’ll visit some of Siza’s notable early works around town as we learn about his inspiration, influence, and impact.

MEET YOUR GUIDE
Amélia Brandão Costa
Amélia Brandão Costa works and lives in Porto. She studied architecture in Porto and Stuttgart, design in Milan, and holds a postgraduate degree in real estate management. Before opening her studio, Architecture Matters, in 2007, Amélia studied under João Pedro Serôdio and Isabel Furtado in Porto, and Jacques Heroz and Pierre de Meuron in Basel. Throughout her vast career she has been an editor, professor, curator critic, guest lecturer, and jury member at several renowned international schools of architecture. She is the founder and editor of Indexnewspaper, which forms part of the MOMA Library, and has received numerous awards and accolades worldwide. Amélia is also the founding director of Porto Academy and since 2020, a member of the board of the Portuguese Architects Association.
